Dental restorations for stray cats
Project SummaryMany abandoned cats in Switzerland suffer from severe toothache. In most cases, surgery by a specialist is the only way to give the cats a dignified life. Help Finny and other cats to live a pain-free life!
Background
Together with the animal protection organisation "NetAP - Network for Animal Protection", I experience the immense cat misery in Switzerland on a daily basis. We catch feral cats all over Switzerland in order to neuter them. Again and again we come across animals that urgently need further veterinary help in order to regain their well-being. Often they suffer from bad toothaches.
Because they want to survive, many cats eat despite the worst pain. Often, in feral cats, we don't see the extent of the dental problems until an animal is under anaesthetic. Sometimes, however, the pain is so great that the animal virtually gives up. It hardly eats, loses weight and organs such as the heart, liver and kidneys are damaged. Before this happens, the animals are often in a bad mood or even highly aggressive. We would be too, in their situation.
An example of this is Finny. Besides the skin cancer on her ears, she also has very bad teeth, which cause her unimaginable pain. The farmer actually wanted to kill Finny. Spending money on an animal that had previously been abused as a birthing machine was obviously out of the question. NetAP took over the female. She was castrated, her ears were amputated, she was treated against parasites and her teeth were completely rehabilitated. Finny was very aggressive due to her pain. However, since the dental rehabilitation, she has already become much more relaxed.
Just like Finny, many other cats in Switzerland are in the same situation. They are unwanted and no one wants to take responsibility for them.

Idea
All cats that go through NetAP's neutering programme always have their teeth checked. A single, loose tooth can then be removed straight away, of course. If, however, a major dental rehabilitation is necessary, the patient has to go to the vet again, this time to a specialist.
Because for NetAP, as for me, every life counts, it must be ensured that the veterinary bills can be paid in the future. We don't want anyone, including cats, to suffer from toothache. With your donation you can contribute to this. Help us to free the cats in Switzerland from their suffering!

Implementation
The costs for dental rehabilitation are always very high and Finny's also still has to be paid for. In addition, we will certainly have to deal with further fates of cats who need further veterinary treatment. Therefore, for my birthday, I am collecting CHF 1,200 to pay part of the dental costs and thus give more cats the chance of a better life, free of dental pain.

My name is Katja and I have been volunteering with the animal welfare organisation "NetAP - Network for Animal Protection" for over five years. Animal welfare, but especially cat welfare in Switzerland, is very close to my heart. That's why I actively help to fight cat misery, both on the front line and in the background. For my birthday, I would like to be able to make a financial contribution. Because every life counts!
