The Dog Rose - food for dogs and cats in winter

Many thanks for your support, which meant we were able to complete the project successfully.
Project SummaryHelping Romanian street animals survive the icy winter. The Citydogs4Streetdogs association wants to supply animal shelters and strays with urgently needed food and find suitable homes for the animals. Help to improve the living conditions of the animals, every donation counts.

Background

During the icy winter months in Romania, wildlife faces particular challenges, especially street animals. The bitter cold and the lack of food put a strain on many animals. Our project aims to improve the living conditions of animals during this difficult time.
We support three animal shelters and many animals on the street in winter by providing them with urgently needed food. For the shelters, this amounts to a total of 380 dogs and 170 cats. The animals would starve without our support as they have lost their sponsors due to inflation and the war in Ukraine, so they depend on our help.
Every month the dogs need 4 tons of dry food and the cats consume 600 kg of dry food. In addition, we need wet food for sick cats and the kittens.

Idea

Our plan for the winter months, November to March, is to finance enough food for these animals so that they can live a happy life. In addition, we want to look for suitable homes for these trusting animals.
For us, the only option is to help, as we cannot see the animals simply starving to death if we do not help. Therefore, we do everything we can to help and ensure that they get enough food during the winter months to stay healthy and happy!

Implementation

We need a total of CHF 15,000 to ensure that the animals survive the icy Romanian winter and make it through the winter nights happy and with a full belly. Here is a brief overview of the cost of the food:

  • Dry dog food: A 10kg bag of dry food for our dogs costs CHF 10.

  • Dry cat food: For our cats, 12kg of dry food costs CHF 45.

  • Wet food: A supply of wet food for sick and young cats for one month costs CHF 300.

We want to make sure that our animals get the food they need to get through the winter healthy and strong. Every contribution is of great importance and makes a direct and positive impact on the animals. Thank you very much for your support!
