Our events

there for you community events – together for a better future.

Our community events bring together people who want to make a difference – donors, project initiators, corporate partners and anyone interested in a sustainable future based on solidarity. At each event, we create space for people to meet, be inspired and exchange ideas. We make the impact of our projects tangible, provide a stage for committed individuals and foster new connections that can lead to further ideas and collaborations.

Solidarity required.

March 24, 2025, Zurich

The third event in our series was characterized by warmth, honesty and a deep desire to make a difference. Under the title “Solidarity Required”, we focused on volunteering in Switzerland. Four impressive speakers provided moving insights:

  • Janine Sobernheim (benevol Schweiz) talked about the social significance of volunteering and provided practical insights into the opportunities and challenges associated with volunteering.
  • Petar Sabovic from the Wunschambulanz reported on touching moments when his team fulfilled the last wishes of seriously ill people – accompanied by the very personal story of an affected family..
  • Regula and Rita from autismus schweiz explained how inclusion can succeed and what strengths lie within the autism spectrum with an impressive change of perspective.
  • Olivia Guler presented United Women Switzerland – a network that connects women with refugee experience, expat women and Swiss women and promotes mutual empowerment.

Empower Nature.

November 25, 2024, Zurich

Our second event, Empower Nature, was dedicated to nature and environmental protection. The kick-off presentation by reforestation expert Simeon Max provided an introduction to the complex world of renaturation and ecological restoration. This was followed by three dedicated initiatives that strengthen nature in very different ways:

  • Luisa Deubzer from Mountain Wilderness showed how untouched wilderness areas in the Swiss Alps can be protected and made visible – for example, with a new collaborative map.
  • Janosch Bremauer presented the there for trees project, which works with schools and companies to combine active reforestation with environmental education.
  • Sagrittaria, a small association, is committed to the restoration of rainforest areas to indigenous communities in South America – an impressive example of global nature and cultural conservation.
  • Another highlight was the keynote speech by Patagonia, whose motto is “We’re in business to save our home planet”, which showed how companies can take responsibility.

Building A Resilient Future.

June 17, 2024, Zurich

Our first community event was a successful kick-off for a new platform for encounters. Under the title “Building A Resilient Future”, we joined forces with dedicated people to address the question of how resilience – i.e. inner strength and resistance – can be built and fostered in a wide range of life realities.

Markus Renevey from the Swiss Resilience Hub gave an impressive introduction to the topic of resilience, with a focus on psychosocial health and organizational strength. Afterwards, four impressive project initiators from different countries and contexts provided very personal insights:

  • Sara Aduse, founder of a foundation against female genital mutilation, spoke about empowerment through education and information in Ethiopia and Switzerland.
  • Claudia Masika, musician and initiator of HOFOGI, talked about her passion project for girls’ education in Kenya.
  • Amine Diare Conde, founder of the Food for All association, reported how his organization provides over 1,800 families affected by poverty in Zurich with access to food that would otherwise have been thrown away every week.
  • Thomas Gilbert, head of the Kamboo Project, showed how his team works with local partners in Cambodia to implement educational and health projects – all on a purely voluntary basis.
