Project SummaryEssen für Alle distributes donated food, purchased staple foods, and hygiene products at various locations in Switzerland every Saturday. Additionally, they repurpose food that would otherwise go to waste. The organization is growing and faces the challenge of meeting its logistical requirements while reaching more people. They urgently require a vehicle of their own, and we are collecting donations for this purpose.
Background
Switzerland has many people in need of financial and material support. Shockingly, millions of tonnes of food are wasted.
In 2021 according to Caritas, poverty affected 745,000 people in Switzerland, including a high number of single parents and those with limited education who struggle to find new employment. It is crucial to address these issues and reduce waste to support those in need. Last year, poverty affected 745,000 people in Switzerland, including a high number of single parents and those with limited education who struggle to find new employment. Additionally, 157,000 employed men and women are considered working poor. Poverty also impacts 134,000 children.

Idea
Essen für Alle distributes donated food, basic foodstuffs, and hygiene articles every Saturday at various locations in Switzerland. This service is available to everyone, regardless of their residency status. The aim is to provide a low-threshold service.
Essen für Alle provides essential food items to over 1,400 people in need every Saturday at various locations in Switzerland. The organization receives support from partner organizations in the food industry, private and institutional donations, and hundreds of volunteers.
However, financial support is also crucial for Essen für Alle, such as for the purchase of a car.

A car or van makes it easier to deliver food to various locations. If the crowdfunding target is reached, Essen für Alle plans to purchase a Sprinter van to improve their food transportation capabilities.

"Essen für Alle" works to ensure that people living in extreme poverty have access to food every week. They also work to ensure that less food is wasted in the economy by encouraging people to use and consume food rather than throw it away. In addition, they are promoting a more conscious approach to food, for example by shopping more consciously and rethinking food waste by encouraging people to test food before they throw it away to make sure it is really spoiled or can still be eaten. We believe that "Essen für Alle" is making a significant contribution to raising awareness of food handling issues and making a positive difference to people's lives.
