Tierlihilfe was founded in September 2017. It is important for us to help fast and uncomplicated. We get almost daily requests of various kinds. For example, we take in cats that for various reasons can no longer stay with their owners, or turn up somewhere as a "foundling cat". These cats usually stay with us at the foster home for a certain time and we look for new owners for them.
Cats that are neutered as part of a neutering campaign are usually allowed back on the farm and are cared for there. We come with appropriate material on site, catch the animals, take them to the vet, look for organizations that will cover the costs and bring the cats back to the farm.
During castration campaigns (e.g. in Guggisberg, Walterswil, farms by Thun etc.) we have to bring a lot of material (cat traps, transport boxes, linen etc.) on site and pick it up again. Unneutered cats (especially males) also smell extremely and the smell can be smelled for a very long time in the car. Out of fear and stress, the animals often urinate and defecate or vomit. For these reasons we decided last year to buy an older car for the Tierlihilfe, so that we can spare our own vehicles a little.
Our almost 20 year old Volvo unfortunately suffered a cylinder head gasket damage this week and a repair is no longer worthwhile.
